Terms of Service
These terms set out the basis on which Mirasen is offered to you. By using the service, you agree to them.
Using the Service
Mirasen is provided for personal, non-commercial language learning. Please keep your account credentials secure; you are responsible for activity that takes place under your account.
Please do not disrupt the service, access it through automated or abusive means, or infringe the rights of others.
Learning Content
Learning material is provided for educational purposes. Reference and dictionary data are derived from established open linguistic sources under their respective licences, and pronunciation audio is generated in-house.
Accounts and Paid Plans
Free accounts are provided on an as-is basis. Where paid plans are offered, the billing terms are presented at the point of purchase; you can cancel from your account and manage renewals through the relevant provider.
Payments, Renewal and Refunds
The Mirasen Pass is an annual subscription. The three-day trial is free, requires no payment details, and never converts into a charge on its own; you are billed only when you choose to buy the Pass.
Purchases are processed by Polar Software Inc., acting as merchant of record. Polar is the seller of record for your transaction, issues your receipt, and collects any applicable tax. Mirasen never receives or stores your card details.
The Pass renews automatically each year at the price shown at checkout unless you cancel beforehand. You may cancel at any time from your account; access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.
You may request a full refund within three days of a purchase, for any reason. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method and access to the Pass ends immediately. After that period the remainder of the term is non-refundable. Nothing in this section limits any statutory cancellation or withdrawal right you may hold under the consumer law of your country.
To cancel or request a refund, write to contact@mirasen.app.
Acceptable Use
Your account is personal. Please do not share your credentials, resell or sublicense access, or use one Pass to serve several people; we limit the number of devices signed in at once and may act on patterns that indicate shared use.
You agree not to scrape, bulk-download or republish our content, to circumvent access controls or payment, or to disrupt the service or probe it for vulnerabilities outside a responsible disclosure to security@mirasen.app.
Intellectual Property
The curriculum, explanations, example sentences, audio, artwork, software and the Mirasen name remain ours or our licensors'. Buying a Pass grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for your own study, and nothing more.
Japanese words, characters and public reference data are not claimed by us; our rights cover the selection, arrangement and expression of the material.
Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, abuses the service, or is used unlawfully. Where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you first and give you a chance to put things right.
If we close a paid account for a breach you caused, the remaining period is not refunded. If we discontinue the service ourselves, we will refund the unused portion of your Pass.
Limitation of Liability
Mirasen is a study aid, not a guarantee of any examination result, certification or level. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any statutory consumer right you hold.
Disclaimer
Mirasen is provided without warranties of any kind. We strive for accuracy in our educational content but cannot guarantee that it is free of error, and your use of the service is at your own discretion and risk.
Changes
We may revise these terms from time to time. Material changes are reflected in the date above, and continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
